A Hybrid Constraint Representation and Reasoning Framework
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper introduces JNET, a novel constraint representation and reasoning framework that supports procedural constraints and constraint attachments, providing a flexible way of integrating the constraint reasoner with a runtime software environment. Attachments in JNET are constraints over arbitrary Java objects, which are defined using Java code, at runtime, with no changes to the JNET source code.

Ongoing Research Projects Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Deduction with Constraints Constraint Solving
This document provides brief descriptions of research projects that are representative of those conducted within the Intelligent Systems Group. For convenience the document is divided into three sections|knowledge representation and reasoning, machine learning, and natural language processing|although there is signiicant overlap among these. One of the most widely-used and successful approaches...
متن کاملPrinciples of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning : Proceedings of the Second International Conference
A general method of automated modal logic theorem proving is discussed and illustrated. This method is based on the sub-stitutional framework for the development of systems for hybrid reasoning. Sentences in modal logic are translated into a constraint logic in which the constraints represent the connections between worlds in the possible world semantics for modal logic. Deduction in the constr...
متن کاملMulti-dimensional knowledge representation with a fuzzy extension
This paper presents some prefiminary results of our current attempts to develop a hybrid multi-dimensional knowledge representation scheme which can handle both the incompleteness and uncertainty. We have started from the quantitative temporal constraint information, and extended it with possibilistic quantifiers. We have also extended the former towards a multidimensional constraint-based form...
متن کامل-System: Problem Solving through Abduction
This paper presents a new system, called the System, performing abductive reasoning within the framework of Abductive Logic Programming. It is based on a hybrid computational model that implements the abductive search in terms of two tightly coupled processes: a reduction process of the highlevel logical representation to a lower-level constraint store and a lower-level constraint solving proce...
متن کاملOntology Constraint Satisfaction Problems using Conceptual Graphs
In this paper we present a visual formalism for representing constraints over knowledge intensive domains. Our approach is based on Conceptual Graphs and consequently benefits from their visual and semantic properties. By expressing constraint satisfaction problems using conceptual graphs we can use effective hybrid strategies to solve them. Central to this approach is the possibility of using ...
